Why he might be annoying:

    He was an attorney.
    He left his wife for Sophia Loren, who was 22 years his junior.
    He met Sophia when she was 15 and pursued a relationship with her.
    He acquired a Mexican divorce to marry Sophia but because Italy didn't have legalized divorce in 1957, he became a bigamist.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He made Sophia an international superstar.
    His marriage to Sophia lasted until his death (2007).
    He, Sophia and his ex-wife lived in exile in France where he was able to acquire an annulment and legally remarry in 1966.
    He produced 140 movies in his career.
    He survived two kidnapping attempts in 1975.
    He studied law at the University of Milan.
    Although he died in Switzerland, his family interred him in Northern Italy.
