The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He shares his name with the track and field star, albeith with a different spelling of his surname.
He publicly criticized the Yankees front office after they acquired Goose Gossage and Rawly Eastwick in free agency.
He is remembered for being the pitcher who surrendered Carl Yastrzemski's 3,000th career hit.
He smashed a water cooler and refused to talk to reporters, after he surrendered a game-winning home run, which ruined his shutout performance (1984).
His playing career ended abruptly due to tendonitis in his shoulder.
He tore his rotator cuff in his throwing arm, in what became his final game as a player.
He was credited with the slow demise of the Expos in Montreal, as he traded the team's established talent for virtually little or nothing in return.

Why he might not be annoying:

He earned a World Series ring as a member of the Yankees (1978).
He pitched the first one-hit shutout in the history of the Mariners franchise.
His first major league win came in a pitching matchup against the legendary Jim Palmer (1978).
He opted to return to college and get his degree in business management, following the end of his playing career.
He defended his track record with the Expos, arguing most of his moves came as a result of the team's perilous financial situation.
He jokingly suggested he wanted to take over the role as the Marlins bullpen coach, which the team's general manager took seriously and offered him the position.
He served as a co-general manager for the Orioles in order to help Mike Flanagan prepare for the role full-time.
