Why he might be annoying:

His nickname was 'The Lip.'
He admitted to wanting to create any sort of story to give his football team media attention in Toronto.
His 1971 Argonauts team is considered one of the best teams in CFL history never to win the Grey Cup.
He helped bring a World Football League franchise to Toronto that was forced to relocate to Memphis, after the Canadian government blocked the franchise from being established.
Despite his contributions to Canadian football, he wasn't inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame as of 2020.

Why he might not be annoying:

He served in the Korean War.
He was credited with bringing relevancy to the Argonauts brand at a time where it was floundering (prior to the establishment of both the Blue Jays and Raptors franchises).
He was described as being an original personality by friends and former players.
He was the final general manager in the history of the Ottawa Rough Riders franchise.
He served as a goodwill ambassador for the Argonauts franchise for three decades, prior to his death.
