Members include Mark Foster, Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink
    Released the album 'Torches'
Recorded the songs 'Pumped Up Kicks' and 'Helena Beat'
They are widely considered to be more of a dance pop band than an alternative band.
Mark Foster formed the band after he was disappointed with the direction a record label wanted him to take as a solo artist.
Billboard Magazine proclaimed their music appealed to Hipsters.
Despite its pop sound, 'Pumped Up Kicks' is a song about a fictional school shooting that Foster wrote as a 'fuck you' to Hipsters.
They earned an MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best New Artist (2011).
Mark Foster recorded all of the instruments for many songs on 'Torches' before recruiting friends Pontius and Fink to join the band.
They gained attention by playing impressive sets at the popular Coachella and South By Southwest music festivals.
Their musical influences range from the Beach Boys to Blur.
