Why 60 Minutes might be annoying:

    That damn watch.
It spun-off the non-creatively named '60 Minutes II.'
It has a habit of dramatizing stories and inflating their actual significance to generate ratings (sensationalism).
It reported on the use of Alar on apple crops possibly being a cancerous agent, which started a national hysteria that ultimately lost the agriculture industry over $100 million.
Their reporters are almost exclusively senior citizens.
When a drop in ratings was seen in the 1993-1994 Nielsen ratings, they made the ratings drop a story.
It has the power to ruin reputations.
Though named '60 Minutes,' the actual content of the show is about 42 minutes.
It chickened out from showing a report exposing the malpractice in the tobacco industry (1994).
It suffers in the ratings without afternoon football acting as its lead-in program.
It always ends with Andy Rooney complaining about some mundane aspect of his life, sometimes offending people with his views.

Why 60 Minutes might not be annoying:

It pioneered a new form of television journalism that is now commonplace on many networks.
It is responsible for breaking several stories.
    It acts as a watchdog.
It is not afraid to report on controversial topics.
Ross Perot's approval ratings dropped after he was asked about questionable topics during his interview.
It is often part of the struggles concerning the rights of the press.
Companies that are profiled negatively on the show usually see a rise in their stocks, as they usually correct the problems.
Lenell Geter, a wrongfully accused man sentenced to life imprisonment, was set free after the show reported on new evidence that proved his innocence (December 1983).
Many delight in Andy Rooney's observations.
