    Played for the Cincinnati Royals (1966-68), Milwaukee Bucks (1968), Chicago Bulls (1968-77), New York Nets (1976) and Seattle SuperSonics (1976-77)
    NBA regular season stats: 789 games played, 13,895 points (17.6 points per game), 4653 rebounds (5.9 rebounds per game)
    Appeared in three All Star Games (1970-73)
    Played in six straight years of playoffs with the Bulls (1969-75), playing 47 games and scoring 1076 points (22.9 points per game)
    His #10 jersey was the second in Bulls history to be retired (Jerry Sloan's #4 was first)
    Wrote the book 'The Bob Love Story: If It's Gonna Be, It's Up to Me' (1999)

Why he might be annoying:

    His stutter drew taunts at school and sportswriters deemed him aloof when he was to embarrassed to speak.
    He retired from basketball at age 34 due to chronic back problems.
    He came home to find all his stuff gone and a note from his first wife stating she didn't want to be married to a guy who couldn't talk and crippled the rest of his life.
    After his career was over, he took a job as a Nordstrom's dishwasher and bussed tables for $4.45 per hour.
    Former players would come to the store, recognize and pity him.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He grew up in segregation and poverty.
    He was born to a teenaged mom and a dad who abandoned him, and he had a stepdad who beat him.
    He overcame obstacles by listening to his grandma's advice, 'Find yourself a dream' (his was the NBA).
    He was the Bulls all-time lead scorer until a certain player with the initials MJ came along.
    A Nordstrom's exec offered to pay for him to take speech therapy, and he was able to stop stuttering.
    In 1993 the Bulls hired him as Director of Community Affairs.
    He became a motivational speaker who delivers over 300 speeches a year to over 250,000 people.
    He found love again and married his second wife Rachel in a ceremony conducted at the Bulls United Center in 1995.
