The Resume

    (1914-May 12, 1934)
Born in White River, Ontario, Canada
Bought for 20 dollars as a cub by Harry Colebourn, a British-born veterinarian and lieutenant serving in Canada
Later donated to the London Zoo
Inspiration for A.A. Milne's ‘Winnie the Pooh’

Why he might be annoying:

Colebourn named her 'Winnipeg' after his adopted hometown.
Her famous namesake Winnie the Pooh was male.
Colebourn had to give her up when she grew too big to take to the Western Front.
She was overfed with honey by children at her new home, the London Zoo.
A sentimental TV movie, ‘A Bear Named Winnie,' starring Michael Fassbender, was made about her (2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

A hunter shot her mother and tried to sell her to passengers waiting for a train.
She became a mascot for the Second Canadian Infantry Brigade.
She was well-known at the London Zoo for her gentle, friendly nature.
The real Christopher Robin visited her frequently and named his teddy bear after her.
Hundreds of people attended her memorial service.
There is a statue of her at the London Zoo and another of her and Lieutenant Colebourn at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg.
