Why Newhart might be annoying
The first season was filmed on videotape and is vastly inferior in quality to the rest of the series.
The first season also did not have Peter Scolari or Julia Duffy.
The opening credits are outtakes of 'On Golden Pond.'
Larry, Darryl and Darryl were wildly popular and made cameos on other sitcoms.
Like Bob Newhart's previous series, it did not win a single Emmy and did not achieve popularity until it was syndicated.
Why Newhart might not be annoying
Critics felt the series got better with every season.
They put most of the episodes on film.
It is now considered one of the best sitcoms of the 1980's.
Even though it did not win a single Emmy or get massive ratings, it remained on the air for eight years.
The series finale is considered one of the best of all time.
