Six All-Star selections (1964, 1966-1970)
Won an AL Gold Glove in shortstop (1967)

Why he might be annoying:

He was fired by the Angels as the manager after 47 games into the 1981 season.
He managed the Phillies to the 1993 World Series and lost to the Blue Jays in six games.
The Philadelphia media criticized him for managing players who were past their prime instead of developing young players.
He was lured away as the San Francisco Giants' special assistant to the general manager to become the manager of the Blue Jays (March 1999).
He was beaten by Charlie Manuel as a candidate to replace Larry Bowa as the manager of the Phillies.

He was one of the more popular and productive players in the 1960s.
He and Bobby Knoop won Gold Gloves as a double play combination (1967).
He was the AL Leader for hitting 13 triples (1968).
He hit for the cycle twice (1964 and 1968).
He was the final original Los Angeles Angel to retire from playing.
His #11 is retired by the Angels.
He managed the Angels to their first AL West title and their first ALCS appearance (1979).
He gave a eulogy at John Vukovich's funeral (2007).
