    She married four times and divorced thrice.
    She married actor Henry Fonda for just 2 months (December 1931-February 1932).
    Her marriage to director William Wyler lasted less than 2 years (1934-36).
    She was an alcoholic.
    She refused to star in the movie 'The Invisible Woman,' causing her to be suspended by Universal Studios.
    Her parenting skills are poor. Two of her three children spent time in mental institutions.
    The third child wrote a 'tell-all' book; 'Haywire,' which was turned into a made-for-TV movie starring Lee Remick.
    Though the coroner ruled her overdose death accidental, those closest to her say she committed suicide due to her depression and progressive loss of hearing.

    She turned her back on family wealth to pursue her dream of becoming an actress.
    She overcame a childhood muscular weakness ailment.
    She won the New York Film Critics Circle Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in 'Three Comrades' (1939).

    His son Peter admired her and named his daughter Bridget after her daughter.
    She has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
