    His tenure as the Hawks head coach was plagued with inconsistency.
    He never won a Stanley Cup during his career.
    He was a solid two way defenseman.
    He was a fan favorite in Chicago.
    He was viewed as being one of the most dedicated players ever to don a Blackhawk jersey.
    While attending the University of Denver, he supported himself by working for a Coca-Cola distribution plant.
    Following his death, the Hawks took his #3 out of circulation, making it unofficially retired.
