Why they might be annoying:

    The band was formed as a one time only tribute to Mother Love Bone's Andrew Wood, who died of a heroin overdose.
    The album 'Temple of the Dog' didn't really take off until Pearl Jam members joined and it was re-released.
    The band was so well received then, that many fans were disappointed that they were formed for just a one time deal.

Why they might not be annoying:

    The band consisted of members from Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, three well to do alternative bands.
    Although they formed as a tribute to a drug addict, it was still a thoughtful gesture.
