The Resume

    (November 12, 1962- )
    Born in San Francisco, California
American author and former political consultant
Became the face of 'Third Wave Feminism' with the publication of her bestselling book, 'The Beauty Myth,' in 1991
Also wrote 'Fire with Fire' (1994), 'Misconceptions' (2001), 'The Tree House' (2005), 'The End of America' (2007), 'Give Me Liberty' (2008), and 'Vagina: A New Biography' (2012)
Strategist for President Bill Clinton's outreach to women voters during his reelection campaign (1996)
Strategist for Vice President Al Gore's failed Presidential campaign (2000)
Articles regularly appear in The New Republic, The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Glamour, Ms. Magazine, and George Magazine (for which she was also the Consulting Editor)

Why she might be annoying:

She is the Left's answer to Ann Coulter (but resembles Monica Lewinsky).
She tried to stay relevant by mimicking the new trend of titling your book after female genitalia.
She accused Harold Bloom of 'sexual encroachment' during her time as a Yale student, twenty years after the fact.
She has a penchant for making inappropriate sexually-charged comments about feminism (e.g. 'orgasm is the body's natural call to politics,' 'we need sluts for the revolution').
She is frequently chastised by her colleagues for doing poor research for her books (e.g. claiming in 'Beauty Myth' that 1500 girls die of anorexia per year, when the number is actually closer to 100).
She has spent decades bemoaning the patriarchal oppression of women in America, but she returned from a trip to the Middle East glowing about the restrictions on women enforced by Sharia Law.
She was arrested in New York City during the Occupy Wall Street protests, claiming to have been arrested for 'disobeying an unlawful order' (Oct. 18, 2011)
She had a drawn-out and public war of words with feminist, Camille Paglia. Among Paglia's more charitable comments, she accused Wolf of being a 'yuppie feminist' 'removed from reality' 'marginalizing' herself as 'a chronicler of teenage angst.'
She was widely attacked for misstatements and baseless assertions when she argued that attacks on the Occupy movement were a coordinated plot, orchestrated by federal law enforcement and implemented by the White House (Nov. 2011).
She sparked controversy when she asserted that American troops were dispatched to West Africa not to assist in treating the Ebola virus epidemic, but to carry the disease back home to justify the start of martial law (Aug. 2014).
She claimed that the ISIS beheading videos were fakes and staged by the US Government, and that the victims and their families were actually actors (Oct. 2014).
She was abandoned by the Feminist establishment when her credibility suffered, and now makes a living by promoting conspiracy theories about government/banks conspiring to impose a 'New World Order.'

Why she might not be annoying:

She annoyed the hell out of Andrea Dworkin.
She was a Rhodes Scholar at New College, Oxford (1985-1987).
She would be the perfect date for Alex Jones.
Her father is the renowned Gothic horror scholar, Leonard Wolf.
She was on the receiving end of slut-shaming when she came forward about Harold Bloom.
She sprang on the national scene by attacking pornography and the unrealistic body expectations for young girls.
She was scapegoated for Al Gore's unsightly wardrobe (and subsequent loss) during his 2000 Presidential Campaign.
The New York Times praised "The Beauty Myth" one of the 70 most significant books of the century.
She has aged well, at least compared to her other Feminist sisters-in-arms.
