Politician

The Resume

    (October 8, 1951- )
    Born in Wauseon, Ohio
Republican Treasurer of the state of Indiana (elected 2006)
Ran for United States Senate (2012)

Why he might be annoying:

In 2009, he unsuccessfully sued the Obama administration for the bailout of the U.S. automotive industry, contending that Chrysler's creditors, including three Indiana state funds, did not get a sufficient return on their investments.
During his second term as state treasurer, it was discovered that $526 million dollars in tax revenues were placed in the wrong bank accounts.
As a result, local governments throughout the state, that should have received these funds, were forced to cut back on services, including laying off personnel.
He is a Tea Party member.
He is a hardline conservative in issues such as Social Security and Medicare.
He became embroiled in a controversy after stating that pregnancy from rape is 'something that God intended.' (October 23, 2012)
His surname vaguely sounds like the one from a conservative media mogul.
British visitors to AmIAnnoying.com may confuse him for comedian and performer Richard Murdoch.

Why he might not be annoying:

He earned a Bachelor of Science in natural systems from Defiance College in 1973 and a Master of Arts in geology from Ball State University in 1975.
He was employed by Standard Oil of Ohio as a senior geologist and ultimately became chief geologist for the company.
    He is a licensed pilot.
    He ran in nine marathons.
As with fellow 2012 Senatorial candidate Todd Akin, his poor choice of words accomplished the nearly impossible: he got Democrats and Republicans to 'legitimately' agree on something!
