Why they might be annoying:

They formed as 'The Four Gents' but changed the name after a member left before any hits came their way.
Cain quit in 1971 and was replaced by Major Harris, who lasted just three years before going solo.
When Wilbert left in 1975, William became the last original member left but still tours under the Delfonics name. Wilbert tours as the 'New Delfonics' or simply 'Wilbert Hart.'
'Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)' has been sampled by hip-hop artists Lauryn Hill (Fugees) and Missy Elliott.

Why they might not be annoying:

Record producer Thom Bell of the 'Philly Sound' fame, with visions of a Philadelphia version of Motown, had his first Top 10 hit with their song 'La-La (Means I Love You)' in 1968.
They won the Grammy for Best R&B Group (1971).
Quentin Tarantino is a fan, He used two of their songs, 'La-La (Means I Love You)' and 'Didn't I (Blow Your Mind This Time)' in his 1997 movie 'Jackie Brown.'
Robert Forster's character in the movie, 'Max Cherry,' purchases 'The Delfonics Greatest Hits' cassette.
