    As his father was a semi-professional musician, he was adamant that the younger Noone would follow his lead.
    His fan base calls itself the ‘Noonatics.’

    He had a recurring role on ‘As the World Turns.’
    For his appearance on Dick Clark’s ‘Scattergories (1993),’ he spoofed one of the Hermits’ most popular songs with an a cappella rendition (‘Mr. Clark, you’ve got a lovely game show’).

Why he might not be annoying:

    He became the Hermits’ frontman when the previous vocalist was a no-show.
    The band thought he resembled Sherman (of Bullwinkle fame), but he heard it as ‘Herman’ instead. The name stuck.
    He went to the Manchester School of Music and Drama.
    He worked with David Bowie.
    He hosted ‘The British Invasion Returns’ on PBS.
    Given the new generation of Hermits fans, VH-1 selected him as the ‘Sexiest Artist of the Year’ (2001).
    Thanks to the popularity of peternoone.com and hermanshermits.com, the New York Daily News named him ‘The King of the Sixties on the Internet.’
    He has aged gracefully.
