Why they might be annoying:

A fourth brother, Bill, was also an outlaw, co-leading the Wild Bunch with Bill Doolin.
Bob was fired as a deputy marshal for illegally selling liquor to the Osage Indians, while was Grat was fired for stealing horses (1890).
After a series of train robberies, Bob decided the gang should 'beat anything Jesse James ever did- rob two banks at once, in broad daylight.'
They attempted the twin robberies in a town where they had grown up, with the not-so-surprising result that they were immediately recognized.
The subsequent shootout resulted in the deaths of Bob and Grat, the gang's two henchmen, the Coffeyville marshal and three townspeople.

Why they might not be annoying:

Their older brother Frank was a Deputy Marshal who was killed in the line of duty.
They initially followed in Frank's footsteps and became lawmen.
Deputy Marshal Heck Thomas, who tracked the gang, said Bob Dalton was the most accurate shot he had ever seen.
Emmett managed to survive the shootout in Coffeyville despite receiving 23 bullet wounds.
The bungled Coffeyville raid did make the Daltons famous, if not quite in the way they had intended.
