Vocalist

The Resume

    (October 9, 1957- )
Recorded 'Here Comes The Hotstepper' (1994)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was a one-hit wonder.
His one hit, 'Here Comes The Hotstepper,' was used in Wilson Pickett's 'na-nana-na-na' chant from his song 'Land of 1,000 Dances.'
'Hotstepper' is slang for fugitive; that and the continuous chant of 'murdered' suggest the song may carry a criminal undertone.
Perhaps contributing to its success, the song was featured on the 'Prêt-à-Porter' soundtrack.

Why he might not be annoying:

He has been a successful reggae artist since 1983.
He abruptly put his music career on hold in 1988, because the reaction to his releases was not very encouraging.
He is one of few reggae artists to also enjoy mainstream success.
