    He began performing in juke joints when he was thirteen.
    He would dye his hair red or green to match his suit.
    He claimed he got the song ‘The Things I Used To Do’ from the Devil.
    He died from pneumonia, complicated by his refusal to follow doctor’s orders and stop drinking a pint of gin a day.

    His mother died when he was five and he was raised by his grandmother.
    He would play with 350 feet of cord between his guitar and his amplifier so he could walk into the audience, or sometimes walk out of the club and into traffic.
    ’The Things That I Used To Do’ was one of the three biggest R&B hits of the 1950s according to Billboard.
    ’The Things That I Used To Do’ was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s list ‘500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll.’
    He was cited as an influence by many guitarists, including Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Frank Zappa, Billy Gibbons, and Jimi Hendrix.
