Football Coach

The Resume

    (October 23, 1969- )
    Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts
Tight ends and linebackers coach at Brown University (1993-94)
Running backs, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia Tech University (1995-2002)
Running backs coach at the University of Maryland (2003-04)
Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Duke University (2005-06)
Assistant coach, offensive coordinator, wide receivers and quarterbacks coach for the New England Patriots (2007-11)
Head Coach for the Penn State Nittany Lions (2012-13) and the Houston Texans

Why he might be annoying:

Despite being a defensive player during his playing career, he worked primarily on offensive plays in his coaching career.
Despite stating he would honor his contract at Penn State, he was actively pursuing NFL head coaching jobs when the college season ended.
His balding head makes him look a lot older then he actually is.
He was coaching nomad in the college ranks prior to landing the job at Penn State.
Some football pundits felt he was using the Penn State head coaching job as a prop in order to garner interest for NFL head coaching vacancies.

Why he might not be annoying:

He modernized a Penn State program that was considered a dinosaur during the final years of the Joe Paterno era.
Unlike Joe Paterno during the final years of his tenure, he was accessible to his team's players and listened to their concerns.
Despite being ineligible for Bowl Games and loss of scholarships in wake of the child abuse sex scandal, he guided the Nittany Lions to a respectable 15–9 record in his two seasons at the helm.
Despite interviewing for head coaching vacancies during the 2012 NFL off-season, he wisely relented citing it would send a poor message to Penn State about leaving after one season.
He fulfilled a childhood dream by serving as a coach on the Patriots, which he served for five seasons prior to taking the Penn State job.
