Why he might be annoying:

    He retired two games short of 1,000 career games played.
    He missed out on playing in the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals as a result of injuries.
    Despite being the North Stars official captain, he wasn't allowed to accept the Clarence Campbell Trophy as he didn't play in the series (Neal Broten did the honors instead).
    He was traded back to the North Stars from the Rangers, exactly a year and six days from his original trade between the two clubs.
    He almost quit hockey after his father passed away.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was a member of both the North Stars teams that reached the Stanley Cup Finals.
    He had a tumor on the bone on his left ring finger, which caused the finger to be amputated (1986).
    He was a leader, whose example was his work ethic.
    He stayed in the Twin Cities area following the North Stars relocation to Dallas and established himself as a high school hockey head coach.
    He was a standout defenseman at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
