Internet Personality
    (2009- )
    YouTube-based British comedy band
Stefan Abingdon (born January 19, 1989) from Fullham, London
Dru Wakely (born January 10, 1987) from Wandsworth, South-West London
Ashley Horne (born January 4, 1989) from Reading, London
Famous for their viral YouTube parody of the Ke$ha single 'TiK Tok' (2009)
Have filmed videos for MTV Rocks and BBC Comedy
431,000 subscribers and 83,360,463 views combined on their YouTube channel (as of June 2018)
They released an autobiography: 'Book at Us Now' (subtle).
They admit to relying heavily on auto-tune.
They are more (in)famous for parodying other artists' songs than they are for their own material.
Their Facebook bio reads: 'Swearing to cover up our insecurities. Mocking stuff to pay the bills.'
Several lyrics in their song 'Use Ya Head' were deemed inappropriate and obscene.
And considering that the song was written for a charity sex-education program, its not far fetched to wonder if lines like 'One up the bum and it’s no harm done/One up the bum and you won’t be a mum' are the best ways to promote 'safe sex.'
They successfully parlayed their brand into a self-titled British sitcom that lasted nearly two seasons.
Their debut album hit #2 on the iTunes Music charts, and in multiple countries (2012).
Jay Sean and Ke$ha both tweeted positive reactions to parodies of their videos.
A running gag in their videos includes Dru interrupting the song to go on extended diatribes about his frequently absent father and getting shut down (dark subtext).
They are not above self-parody, as is the case with 'Just Another Boyband' in which they poke fun at their fitting the tropes of the genre (Dru is the group's 'badboy,' Stefan is the heartthrob, and Ash is 'the cute one').
They were among the first 'viral YouTube stars' to make it big, and claimed they never anticipated the 'Tik Tok' parody would go viral (it received over 1 million views).
