Many critics consider his art shocking and vulgar.
Some of his most notorious works are photos and sculptures of himself having sex with his porn-star wife, Ilona Staller.
'The New York Times' called his work 'artificial, cheap and unabashedly cynical.'
His most famous sculpture is of Michael Jackson holding his pet chimpanzee.
He has assistants do some of his painting for him.
He claims he is the most famous living artist in the world (but probably isn't).
He paid the rock singer Momus to write a song about him.

Why he might not be annoying:

He gave up a successful career as a commodities broker on Wall Street to become an artist.
Ilona Staller divorced him, kidnapped their son, and disappeared to Italy.
The U.S. courts awarded Koons full custody of the child, but cannot enforce it.
He says the whole experience made him more moral and down-to-earth.
