The Resume

    (2003- )
    Born in Edmonton, Canada
Appears on Canada's Shaw Cable channel
Often referred to as 'The Fireplace Channel' by viewers
Premise: an hour-long loop video of a fireplace fire plays continuously 24/7 during part of the winter season

Why Fire Log Channel might be annoying:

It lacks warmth in a literal sense.
Every few minutes, a pair of hands would poke the fire.
The channel has a very strong Canada-wide fan following for some strange reason.

Why Fire Log Channel might not be annoying:

The fire appears in beautiful High Definition.
It can be relaxing to watch if you are not expecting to get warm from it.
Off season, viewers can enjoy watching fireplace fires on DVD's inspired by the channel.
The 'show' inspires some viewers to build mantelpieces around their television sets.
As of the end of December 2009, the Facebook group '[Fans of] The Guy who Pokes the Fire on the Fireplace Channel' has almost 35,000 fans.
