Why he might be annoying:

He primarily was a bench warmer during his time with the Blazers.
He did the whole 'high-school-to-pros' thing.
He played on the USA team that placed an embarrassing sixth place at the World Basketball Championships (2002).
He always wears a headband when playing.
He cried after becoming one of the league's highest paid players.
He is overshadowed by that other O'Neal.
He was suspended 25 games for fighting with Detroit Piston fans (November 2004).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the youngest to ever play in an NBA game (18 years, one month, 22 days.)
He is an awesome shot-blocker and rebounder, and he is one of the best big men in the NBA.
He is an All-Star.
He felt betrayed after the Pacers fired coach Isiah Thomas, but he stuck with the team rather than demand a trade.
He was voted the NBA's Most Improved Player for the 2001-02 season.
He has made the Pacers one of the better teams in the NBA.
