    He was the NL leader for outs made with 486 (1935).
    He was a member of two consecutive Giants teams which lost the World Series to the New York Yankees in each appearance (1936-1937).

    He was born on Christmas Day and died on April Fool's Day in the city he was born in.

    He tied a record for hits in a five-game World Series with nine (1937).
