Why he might be annoying:

His face is always drawn up in a disgusted scowl.
He is best known in the infamous 1970s commercial that features creepy animations and a corny-sounding theme song.
The chorus of the theme song: 'Mr. Yuk is MEAN! Mr. Yuk is GREEN!'
The effectiveness of Mr. Yuk is debated by some who claim that he doesn't look scary, and looks more friendly than, the traditional skull-and-crossbones poison symbol.

Why he might not be annoying:

His purpose is to remind young children to stay away from poisonous household substances.
He has helped raise awareness about poison prevention and Poison Control Centers.
He has become a pop-culture icon in the 1970s.
