Appeared on Broadway in 'Bells Are Ringing' (1956-59), 'Goodbye Charlie' (1959-60), 'Subways Are for Sleeping' (1961-62) and 'Funny Girl' (1964-65)

Why he might be annoying:

He was expelled from three boarding schools.
He made his movie debut in a film directed by his dad.
He said about his film career, 'I wasn't a leading man. So they slapped a coat of dark greasepaint on me and cast me as an Indian or an Egyptian.'
When his Broadway successes 'Bells Are Ringing' and 'Funny Girl' were made into films, he was passed over as the leading man, partly because he had feuded with the female stars of the plays (Judy Holliday and Barbra Streisand, respectively).
He was omitted from Charlie Chaplin's will, which he admitted was because his father suspected he would 'fritter away' any money he was left.

Why he might not be annoying:

During WWII, he served as a bazooka operator in the Third Army under General Patton.
He said about being the son of a celebrity, 'I think anyone who feels his life has been scarred because of the fame of his father is a bore.'
He was a founding member of LA's critically acclaimed Circle Players (1946).
He won a Tony for 'Bells Are Ringing' and was nominated for another for 'Funny Girl.'
He owned a popular restaurant, Chaplin's, in Palm Springs.
