Why he might be annoying:

He left college two years before graduating to declare for the NBA draft.

During a player lockout (2011), he signed with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the Chinese Basketball Association; after the lockout ended, the Tigers accused him of faking a hamstring injury to get released so he could return to the Trail Blazers.
When Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was asked why Mills had limited playing time in the 2012-13 season, he explained, 'He was a little fat ass.'

Why he might not be annoying:

He played Australian rules football well enough to have been offered a contract by the Sydney Swans of the Australian Football League.
He founded the charity Assist Australia after flooding in Queensland, and raised $40,000 for relief (2011).
At the 2021 Olympics, he had the best scoring average of any player, 21.2 points per game. (Runner up: Stephen Curry at 19.5)
By the start of the 2013-14 season, he had cut his body fat in half, from 12% to 6%.
He broke Andrew Bogut's records for most NBA games played by an Australian and most points scored in a game by an Australian.
He was the first indigenous Australian to be his country's flagbearer during the opening ceremonies of the Olympics (2021).
