    He, along with C.J. Nitkowski and Doug Brocail, were either traded for or with each other in the trades between the Tigers and Astros.

    As of 2019, he is the league leader in games played amongst Jewish players.
    He served as a bullpen catcher and volunteer coach for the baseball team at Dartmouth.
    He was considered one of the top defensive catchers in the game by baseball pundits.
    He was the first catcher in nearly 90 years to play in a World Series game that attended an Ivy League school (2005).
    He served as the manager for the Israeli team at the World Baseball Classic (2017).
