She wed producer Sam Spiegel, who was two decades older.
She had an affair with writer Irwin Shaw despite both their marriages.
She indulged in a fling with John Huston, her husband's business partner.
She cut up Spiegel's suits and destroyed several Picasso paintings.
She failed to report a hit-and-run accident which killed a nine-year-old boy.
She served only fifty days in jail for the accident.

As a World War II pin-up, she was called the 'Triple-A Girl'--'adorable, amiable, and amorous.'
She was devoted to her mother.
Due to effects of drug addiction and depression, she spent the last weeks of her life paralyzed from the knees down.
