The Resume

    (1953- )
    Originally named Campbelltown (1953-56)
Located in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada
Part of the Edmonton Capital Region
Population is 70,618 as of the 2016 census

Why Sherwood Park, Alberta might be annoying:

It was forced to change its name from Campbelltown, after Canada Post objected to the town's name.
Despite having a population large enough to be considered a city, it is a hamlet/urban service area in Strathcona County.
As a result of its status as a hamlet, it does not have designated emergency services for the community, instead relying on the county and neighboring Edmonton.
It is located near the Refinery Row on the west side, and due to its proximity to the refineries, it frequently deals with air pollution issues.
It is mistakenly believed to be part of Edmonton, due to its western boundary being in close proximity to that city's eastern one.
It suffered F4 damage from the Edmonton Tornado (July 31, 1987).

Why Sherwood Park, Alberta might not be annoying:

It was established on a family farmland in Strathcona County.
Its population makes it the seventh largest community in the province of Alberta.
It is one of two designated urban service areas in Alberta, without being designated as a city.
It has experienced continuous growth every year since its inception.
Its cost of living made it an affordable alternative for people who work in Edmonton.
It serves as the main seat for Strathcona County.
It is located in close proximity to Elk Island National Park.
