Why he might be annoying:

Eight years after releasing his second album ('Don't Look Back,' 1978), he finally released his third ('Third Stage,' 1986). By then all members of Boston except for the lead singer had quit.
He was sued by Boston band member, Barry Goudreau, for damaging his solo career (they settled out-of-court).
He's a vegetarian.
He's a supporter of P.E.T.A..

He earned a master's degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He's recorded almost all of Boston's songs in his basement.
His debut LP ('Boston,' 1976) was the best-selling pop/rock debut effort of all-time, until supplanted by Whitney Houston's first album in 1986.
All Boston albums are certified platinum (1,000,000 copies sold).
He formed Scholz Research & Design, Inc. (1981), maker of high-tech music equipment. He developed a volume-control device, called the 'Power Soak,' and a small guitar amplifier with headphones, called the 'Rockman.'
