His nickname was 'Jethro.'
He was one of the first players who allowed his dog to eat out of the Stanley Cup bowl.
Despite his articulate communication skills, he was extremely uncomfortable in the captain's role.
Despite being considered an Islanders legend, he finished his career with the rival Buffalo Sabres.
