    His playing career didn't take him any further then the low minor leagues.
    He was a career assistant coach, prior to landing the head coaching job for the women's team at Boston College
    He went 1-18-1 in conference play during his first season.
    He had a sexual relationship with one of his players, which led to his dismissal from Boston College (April 24, 2007).
    His marriage faltered and his reputation was tarnished when word of the scandal became public.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He served as an assistant coach on the U.S. women's ice hockey team, which captured the first women's ice hockey gold medal in Olympic history (1998).
    He helped turn the Boston College women's ice hockey program from a doormat to reputable.
    He earned Hockey East Coach of the Year honors twice in a three year span between 2005 and 2007.
    His Boston College team showed significant improvement during his four years at the helm.
    He guided the Boston College women's ice hockey team to their first Frozen Four appearance (2007).
