Comedian

The Resume

    (February 4, 1983- )
    Born in Chicago, Illinois
American comedian, actor, and television writer
    Acted in 'Neighbors' (2014)
Best known as Lincoln Rice in Comedy Central's 'Broad City' (2014-2015)
Also known for his recurring roles in 30 Rock, Louie and 'China, IL'
Writer for Saturday Night Live (2009-2010) and 30 Rock (2010-2011)
Co-Host of 'The Eric Andre Show' on Adult Swim
Recorded Stand-Up Comedy Albums, 'My Name is Hannibal' (2010), 'Animal Furnace' (2012), and 'Live from Chicago' (2014)
Comedy Central hour-long special, 'Hannibal Buress Live from Chicago' aired March 29, 2014

Why he might be annoying:

One of his routines involves rapping from the perspective of a porcupine.
He was typecast as funny homeless men early in his career.
His official site's biography closes with the following: 'There’s other stuff on google that you can find. Have a nice day.'
He quit as a writer for 30 Rock after working for only six months.
He left a year after signing on with Saturday Night Live with only one of his sketches having aired in that time.
Ken Jennings jokingly tweeted that his wife was a big enough fan of 'Broad City' that she would leave him to marry Buress if she could.
He admitted at Comedy Central's Justin Bieber Roast that he was there strictly for self-promotional reasons, rather than out of any personal affection for him.
When the Roast aired, Comedy Central edited out his 'jokingly' telling Bieber 'you should thank me for participating in this extremely transparent attempt to be more likable in the public eye. And I hope it doesn't work.'
He turned the joke into a Twitter meme when the joke didn't make it on the air, saying 'this one got cut from #BieberRoast. I get it' (Mar. 31, 2015).
A recording of his stand-up material at Philadelphia's The Trocadero focusing on Bill Cosby's sexual assault allegations went viral and arguably served as the catalyst transforming it into a national scandal (Oct. 16, 2014).

Why he might not be annoying:

He received death threats after his Cosby routine started to gain traction.
He does restaurant reviews while on his comedy tours.
He is named after the Carthaginian military commander, Hannibal Barca.
He is good friends with fellow Chicagoan, Chance the Rapper.
He did a hilarious guest stint as an NBA reporter covering a Pelicans game for ESPN in 2014.
He was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for his work on Saturday Night Live in 2010.
He received nominations from the Writers Guild of America in 2011 and 2012 for his work on 30 Rock.
He is the closest thing to a Paul Shaffer-Ed McMahon straight man for the Eric Andre Show.
He is brutally honest (and said what most of the Bieber Roast comedians wanted to actually say out loud).
His Cosby routine contained virtually nothing that wasn't already either common knowledge or existing rumors, merely calling Cosby a hypocrite for lecturing black Americans about their lives and telling people who doubt him to Google the words 'Bill Cosby' and 'rape.'
A video of him masterfully shutting down a heckler during his Delaware show, nonchalantly chiding him as a 'social terrorist' for ruining the show for the audience, went viral on YouTube (March 30, 2015).
