Why Arlington, Virginia might be annoying:

Although it is by all means a city, and is often referred to as one, it is classified as a county.
Until 1920, it was called Alexandria, which often caused confusion with the nearby city of Alexandria, Virginia.
It was supposed to be the nation's capital, but the land ended up being sold back to Virginia (1846).
It is one of the most expensive 'cities' to live in the U.S.
The Federal Government dominates its economy.
One of the Hanson brothers was born here.
Although it is located here, the US Postal Service requires that Washington, D.C. be used in the mailing address.

Why Arlington, Virginia might not be annoying:

The US Department of Defense is headquartered here at The Pentagon.
Arlington National Cemetery is one of the biggest and most famous cemeteries in the world.
Presidents Taft and Kennedy are buried here at the cemetery.
It has a strong economy and maintained an incredibly low unemployment rate during the 2008 recession.
It suffered during 9/11 when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into The Pentagon.
Sandra Bullock, Dr. Patch Adams, Warren Beatty and Shirley Maclaine are from here.
