    Born in Brooklyn, New York
    Later based in Nassau County, New York
    Namesake for the 1942 song ‘Rosie the Riveter’
    Established the Walter Foundation (1951) and RP Walter Journalism Fund
    Life Trustee for the International Tennis Hall of Fame
    Other trusteeships include Long Island University and the American Museum of Natural History
    Other board memberships include the Paley Center for Media, Museum of Television and Radio, and North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary

Why she might be annoying:

    She was born affluent, to a Long Island University professor and the president of a pharmaceutical company.
    Both of her marriages, in 1946 and 1956, were to men named Henry.
    The ‘Henry’ trend would continue with her son.

Why she might not be annoying:

    Working the night shift during WWII, the young Rosalind Palmer was honored for her rapid and efficient rivet work on fighter aircraft.
    During the war effort, she advocated for fair pay for her female co-workers.
    As a regular contributor – on many fronts – to WNET-TV (THIRTEEN, PBS, NYC), the affiliate would eventually name her to their board (1989).
    Billy Joel purchased one of her old homes.
