Why he might be annoying:

His films are talky, artificial, and sometimes pretentious.
They feature dance sequences that come out of nowhere.
He directs his actors to give flat, bland performances.
In the movie 'Henry Fool,' one character gets sick and throws up on a girl's naked ass.

His movies make fun of Hollywood conventions.
He uses many of the same actors in his films.
He was once bitten in the face by a dog, and had an extremely painful recovery.
He also writes music for his films.
