In the 1991 Canada Cup, he issued a very hard hit on Wayne Gretzky forcing Gretzky to miss the remainder of the competition.

Typical of many of his NHL colleagues, his favorite off-ice activity is golf.
Despite his controversial checks on Gretzky and Kariya, he was known to be a gentlemanly player.

He is a University of Wisconsin alum.
He participated in four All-Star tournaments and two Olympic competitions (with one Silver Medal one of the latter events).
He retired with a 1989 Stanley Cup win to his credit.
He is labeled 'The Power Play Specialist.'
