The Resume

    (September 16, 1950- )
    Born in Dundee, Quebec, Canada
First female Auditor General of Canada (May 2001– )
Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University (1972)
    Ernst & Young partner (1981)

Why she might be annoying:

Her cousin, a member of the Mulroney cabinet, was fired over rotten tuna and subsequently promoted to Speaker of the House by his boss.
She did not learn French until the early 1980s (ironic, being from Quebec).
She received an honorary degree at Simon Fraser University (October 2004).

Why she might not be annoying:

She does not fear public officials who care more about saving their asses than representing their constituents.
She was the first Auditor General to receive the designation internally.
She was a key player in the full exposure of the nearly-a-decade-long federal sponsorship scandal (February 2004). It would take six more years to get public officials to cooperate, albeit slightly.
During her visit to Afghanistan (January 2010), where Canadian troops were stationed, she expressed concern that the operation was not living up to its full potential.
