Premise: Police detectives in Los Angeles, California investigate crimes throughout the city

It could be renamed 'LAPD Blue .'
When it first debuted on NBC, there were too many bleeped words that distracted the viewer.
'New York Times' critic Mike Hale criticized the 'heavy-handedness' he saw in some of the writing. He noted 'sententious lectures about the nature of police work' done by Det. Cooper.
Like NYPD Blue, there is rampant violence, swearing, and bloody gore portrayed through most episodes.
NBC pulled the drama from its lineup in favor of Jay Leno's short-lived prime time talk show.

It gave an acting job to McKenzie, who was previously known for his role on 'The O.C..'
Alessandra Stanley of the 'New York Times' praised the show's pilot episode as one of the most gripping opening episodes of any network crime series.
Fortunately, TNT picked up the show for more seasons.
It gives the viewer a glorified, gritty look at how police officers risk their lives to serve and protect the public.
