Why Tampa, Florida might be annoying:

    The Native Americans that inhabited the Tampa area in 1513, the Calusa, attacked Juan Ponce de León after he attempted to come ashore. In 1521, he returned to Tampa only to die from a Calusa-inflicted poison arrow wound.
    Pirates used to search the bay area for treasure. Some of those pirates, Black Casear, Jean Lafitte and José Gaspar, are remembered and honored at a party in which people can dress as pirates, called the Gasparilla Festival.
    Some natural disasters that plague the area include floods, hurricanes and sinkholes.
    There are many spots for gamblers to bet their life savings away.
    They loved cheering for Warren Sapp until he left their team.
    Although they demanded a major league team, the Devil Rays attendance quickly dwindled.
    After winning back to back titles, their Continemtal Basketball Association team Tampa Bay Thrillers relocated to Rapid City, South Dakota (1988).
    Their MLS soccer team, the Mutiny were contracted (2001).
    Resident, 15 yeard old, Charles Bishop, an alleged Bin Laden supporter crashed a small plane into the Bank of America building (January 5, 2002).

    In 1919, Babe Ruth hit his longest home run at Plant Field. The home run was measured at traveling 587 feet.
    For the most part, they enjoy great weather year-round.
    The cost of living isn't as high as it is in Miami.
    If you enjoy deep sea fishing, this is the place to be.
    It has a great night life and is a hot spot during spring break.
    Their airport, Tampa International Airport, has been called a 'world-class international airport.'
    The city is primarily made up of Hispanics, Afro-Americans and Caucasians.
    The Yankees, Phillies, Blue Jays and Red, do spring training here.
    Major League Baseball players, including Fred McGriff, Gary Sheffield, Dwight Gooden, Tino Martinez, Derek Bell and Darryl Strawberry were born here.
    WWE wrestlers, including Chris Jericho, Christian, Edge, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, X-Pac, Dean Malenko, Gerald Brisco live in the Tampa Bay area.
    'Oceans 11' and 'Punisher' were filmed here.
