Why he might be annoying:

His MO is to bitch about how the country has hit 'all time lows' in terms of its media coverage.
His trademark is his scraggly appearance and five o'clock shadow.
He has a penchant for personally attacking people he disagrees with (such as calling Alex Jones 'a lunatic, an absolute diehard insane lunatic').
He goes to great lengths to prove he's 'non-partisan' but usually ends up parroting liberal Democrat talking points anyway.
He tried to pull a Michael Moore and translate his success as a political documentarian into celebrity.
He made Kevin Hart visibly uncomfortable on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno when he referred to FOX News as 'the home shopping network for conspiracy theories about the scary black man.'
He proceeded to lean over to Hart and crack a weird joke about stealing cookies from outside his hotel room in San Francisco.
One critic trashed his documentary as 'a post-modern film by Jeremy Scahill, about himself, starring himself in many poses.'
He is vehemently anti-Israel, frequently saying that the Israelis are guilty of 'war crimes' and accusing the US media of only reporting 'Israeli propaganda.'
His anti-war leanings were mysteriously abandoned when President Obama started advocating the removal of Bashir Assad, at which point he became a cheerleader for Syrian intervention.
He refused to participate in a Stop the War Conference in London unless Syrian nun Mother Agnes was dropped from the symposium, due to her support of Assad (she was eventually pulled out).
The investigative media outlet he co-founded with Glenn Greenwald was announced with great fanfare but has since yielded only one publication.

Why he might not be annoying:

His name sounds like an action hero's.
He forewent college to do work at soup kitchens and homeless shelters.
He is a protégé of Amy Goodman and Noam Chomsky.
He drew the ire of Democrats for opposing intervention in Libya.
He came to national attention during the nomination of Samantha Power for National Security Advisor, when a video resurfaced of a Democracy Now segment, with him schooling her in a roundtable debate over foreign policy.
He was baited into using the phrase 'your President' on a segment with Ed Schultz, who seized on it to attack him as unpatriotic and silence him over Libya.
He virtually shut down the annoying-as-hell Toure in a debate over the constitutionality of trying Americans in Yemeni courts.
He was nominated for an Best Documentary Feature Oscar for 'Dirty Wars' in 2014.
He was twice awarded the prestigious George Polk Award, in 1998 and in 2008.
He has been a vocal critic of drone warfare and private military contracting.
