Why he might be annoying:

    Despite being a member of the first World Series winning team, he did not play in any game of the series.
    He got hit by pitches frequently.
    He was the AL leader for committing errors as a first baseman (1904).
    He did not report to the Chicago White Sox after he was bought from the Senators (1907).
    He was tagged out in the first Major League unassisted triple play of the 20th century (July 19, 1909).
    He and outfielder Chick Stahl were wrongfully listed as brothers by some sources; they're not related.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He held a law degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
    He took over the Senators as the youngest player-manager in AL history at age 26 (1905).
    He was Indiana University's baseball head coach in the 1907 season.
    He guided the Red Sox to a 105 win season and won the 1912 World Series in the season they first began playing at Fenway Park.
    He served in the military in World War I.
    Later in his life, he had a successful banking career.
