Why she might be annoying:

She had a husky voice that seriously contrasted her 5 ft 4 in (1,63 m) build.
Divorced twice, widowed twice, speaking of which:
At her second husband’s death, she got into a legal dispute with his friend over, of all things, life insurance money.
In an interesting twist, her mother and daughter were named Barbara at birth — which technically doesn’t qualify her as a Junior.
Since ‘Easy Money’ (1936), all of her feature appearances have been uncredited.

Why she might not be annoying:

Before going into acting, she worked as an accountant and a teacher of several disciplines.
She wrote numerous fan letters to future co-star William S. Hart — eventually becoming the leading lady in his final role.
Despite her inability to transition to talkies, she did make a significant stage appearance, in the debut of Ayn Rand’s ‘Woman on Trial’ (1934).
She had roles in numerous shorts — not all, particularly post-‘Easy Money,’ of which were uncredited.
At the death of her last husband – the longest of her marriages – she moved into retail sales.
