He was known almost as much for his trash talking off the field as he was for his on field play.
Falcons' cornerback Ray Buchanan said: ‘(He) looks like a horse. That's one ugly dude.'

He competed in the World Series of Poker (2005).

He won three Super Bowl rings, two with the Denver Broncos and one with the Baltimore Ravens.
At the time of his retirement, he held the NFL records for career touchdowns, receptions and yards by a tight end.
He earned eight NFL Pro-Bowl selections.

He also participated in basketball and track and field (triple jump) in college.
