Why he might be annoying:

After he took over central Japan, he ousted the local 'shogun.' However, he couldn't become a 'shogun' himself because his ancestry made him ineligible to be one.
He massacred 3000 monks at a temple in Mount Hiei.
He acted disrespectful during his father's funeral.
He was extremely reckless.
He was betrayed by one of his closest generals, Mitsuhide Akechi.

Why he might not be annoying:

He introduced muskets to Japanese warfare.
He felt the Buddhists had too much power in Japan.
He encouraged free trade.
After he was betrayed, he committed suicide by seppuku (self-disemboweling).
By improving its war strategies and encouraging trade with Europeans and neighboring Asian countries, he brought Japan out of isolation.
