Why he might be annoying:

He was nicknamed 'Phantom Joe', largely in part to his ability to skate to the opposing end undetected.
He missed the majority of the 1918-19 season, due to an arm injury.
The injury caused him to miss the Canadiens Stanley Cup Final matchup with the Seattle Metropolitans.
He played two separate stints with both the Bulldogs and Canadiens franchises.
Despite his status as being one of the first stars in the NHL's early years, he isn't acknowledged in comparison to the modern contemporaries.

Why he might not be annoying:

He is the first player in NHL history to score seven goals in a single game.
He was a member of three Stanley Cup championship teams during his career.
He played a relatively clean style of game during his career.
He set an NHL record for the longest goal scoring streak in league history (14 games).
