Why Rescue Me might be annoying:

    It shows fire fighters in a very poor light most of the time.
    Several episodes have enraged the administration, as well as the rank and file of the FDNY.
    Marissa Clark was originally in the cast and filmed the pilot, she then became a contestant on the reality show, 'Outback Jack,' without informing the producers of Rescue Me.
    No one could locate her, so her role was re-cast.
    It tries too hard to be edgy and controversial.

Why Rescue Me might not be annoying:

    It shows the life of a fire fighter is not always wine and roses.
    Many of the show's plots come from actual events and incidents.
    Most of the extras are retired or active FDNY fire fighters who work on the show on their days off.
    It was initially well received by the FDNY and it's members.
    Jack McGee is a former FDNY fire fighter.
